
The Onigiri Company is a family business based in Calgary Alberta. After traveling through Japan in 2004 and 2006 and tasting many Onigiri along the way, we were inspired to bring this innovative, portable and healthy food back to Canada.

Our Onigiri (O-knee-Gee-ree) begin as a hand shaped ball of short-grain white rice. The center of the rice ball is then filled with one of our delicious savory fillings. As you unwrap the special package, your Onigiri is enveloped in a fresh, crisp sheet of Nori (seaweed) and ready to enjoy. Onigiri means, “taking hold of (something) with your hands". 
Our head chef has created a fusion of flavors using both Japanese and western ingredients. Each Onigiri is hand wrapped in authentic wrappers engineered to keep the Nori (seaweed) sheet separate from the Onigiri until the moment it is opened ensuring that the nori stays crisp and fresh. The result is a novel and delicious snack or lunch experience; perfect for an urban Samurai on-the-go.




Yam n’ Salmon: Baked wild salmon, caramelized yam, fresh ginger, sweet soy sauce.
Wasabi Tuna: Spicy wasabi mayonnaise, flaky yellowfin tuna.
Sweet Chili Tofu: Crispy tofu, carrots, green onion, sweet chili sauce.
Teriyaki Beef: Alberta ground beef, sweet garlic Teriyaki Sauce.
Our Onigiri are produced in a nut free facility and have no gluten added. We make conscientious choices when selecting our high quality ingredients. Our Nori is harvested and produced in the Jiangsu Province of China and is an excellent source of protein, fibre, potassium, magnesium, riboflavin, Vitamin A and Vitamin C.
